Holmes,R. 1963 8 June Banns, Alaska C. melanotus Nest found with 4 eggs + one & in grass slope 1 Village S. bluff. - nest lined with dry grass. & flushed - landed 20' away, chased or attacked (vantower) compl. feeding $- 4X - Dena & landed cleared 1/4 & for 5x, just found birds - Mr. Hunt & began to count. No feeding $ - & curled her in a fort wall with tuil cochel (not spread), had no rplum - which also moved as sagging course - gave me puffed boots - she kept feeding & aft the 8 circled & at cleavage (3-6") for about 30-40 min at hr - a chase followed. - i.e. sees that a 8 with & + nut in vicinity (below tree displays all around her area) - ran he off t was counting another. - shot - & aggression Nest checked half hour later, I was incidentally flew off when I was 70' away, circled behind me, landed gave a rather hast rolled turnrrrrrt - but no poking at my face - she led me away, giving no note. Flodif & her Trephine III A+B - 3 were counted unsuccessfully in 1/83, with about 10 sec intervals. He was below me, she flew off, around another - etc.
