Holmes,R. 1962 Evolia melanotos 25 June Barrow, Alaska Flots Steel present at De Neod ridge & see De low-land ponds at the insect area. Chasing by settled 837 is frequent. 26 June Several flock m's near De Neod ridge. In areas - 283 even involved in territorial dispute - flying side by side - both whoop - when 6m somewhere nearby & 2 eggs - both males went chasing after he - not giving the gurgling battle (although we bird gave no call more frequently observed around them in respect). Late, at least provision 85 found De chase - but left soon afterwards. 94 must be a short supply. 27 June Nest found earlier on Storvark plot - now with Yegg - 4 was incubating - but moved off De nest when 6m was 60' away - & flew 15'. Slight move run - noted distracting behavior. A second nest located at De south end of the plot - with Eggs - 4 showed no distracting behavior - but remained close in the vicinity - acting nervous. Jun - 3 classes of 3.4 AD seen on De plot During the day - most (1) flew across De plot - very little displaying activity Never seen a settled 837 - 60g not seen
