Holmes, T. 1982 Erolia melanotos 13 June Barrow, Alaska The displaying bird near Elson layon - green scanty. One heard so.1 Britton's Area in the evening. No flock noted. 14 June Small flock of 5-7 seen - west of Ostigite Census Plot - on the birds may have been settled - but was not trying very hard to avoid The Remainders. Flu-flu display of 5 seen at The Shrank Plot. The general impression was that birds are scarce - settled 8-9 here there but not in "normal" numbers. The scarcity of flocks now indicates that the birds here previously in groups have now dispersed into the nearby - opening hundreds - a bar left to other areas. 16 June Flock of 15-20 seen along Elson Cliffs - no aggression noted: one case where 2-3 were chasing a 4. - initially - the given - The a cent down 1 male after the other. This chosen - 13 birds - off a 4 was noted again in the evening - Cappants 18 succeeded in chasing off the top off. 17 June 2-5 feeding along Elson layon - 1-3 displaying along Wohlschley. In the evening - 2-3 heard displaying between Britton + 5th Ave. General very little activity.
