Holmes, P. 1962 Erolia melanotus 4. 9 June Barrow, Alaska Lake - about 50 yards / N. south another flock was noted - The fin with 12?88? All birds even busy feeding. A flock of 15 was at Nussour end / the Shrouds census plot - again apparently many sound. I wonder if these birds come in from the coast & follow the creeks & lagoons inland - along the bluff where an exposed. The suns there out - seen on an only sea, along E15-, Village & Vth Creek - then at Shrook. A group about 15 - mostly 8? were seen feeding in the Cowards - S.W. (Drifters) Area. The amount of flocking this year for purpose what was been seen in 1961. However, relative few displaying & heard at the tern - which seems peculiar in comparison with 1955 & 60. 10 June - S.E. bend - mostly 4? seen feeding S.E. of Britton's Area & a group of 3 (2?8?) / 2) on N. insect plots. One male feeding & displaying on the slope - opposite (S.S.W.) Volcano. In the alert posture - Petrova truck area is quite boggy - former < long slope - In front the bird flops here astern
