2 June Barrow, Alaska
2 displaying 87 seen along Elsn Bluffs;
17 was seen. (These two 87 were not
displaying near each other - one seen
near Wohlschley and one near Ootkpik
4 June 107 near Elsa Bluffs; 1 on Britten's area.
No display seen.
5 June None seen. Definite Britten - Volk - Quaet
area.
6 June None seen at Britten's Area, along Village Slough,
or at Shroul. One 87 seen east of
Volk area. - sitting - no display.
One 87 seen just W. of Wohlschley Flats -
as well as 107 - who was late heard
giving an aerial display. A flock of 6875
was encountered near Ootkpik - about 514m,
presently in general inactive.
7 June 287 heard displaying on the open grassy bluff
east of Volk area. Later a flock of 4087; 249
seen No. of Wohlschley along Elsn Lagoon. Near
Ootkpik Slough - a flock of 12877 - some quit
were developing broods + 599 - feeding together -
Later - a flock of about 35
birds seen at the south end of Wohlschley x
Elsn junction - most seemed to be 877. 107
who heard displaying near Ootkpik.
