Holmes, R 1960 Erolia melandros 22. 29 July Barrow, Alaska None seen today in the area east of the gasoline. 2 August - Small flocks & numerous individuals were present on Footprint Lake today. Most of these birds were in the northern half of the lake & even feeding in the wet areas. (Estimated 200+ birds were present). These represented both ♂♀ & ♀, most of which were undergoing a body moult. Several flying juveniles were also present (1 collected). None were seen in the tundra near Roth's Area. 3 August Barrow = S. Barrow 3, Alaska The numerous birds at Footprint Lake were again seen. Nearly other preforms noted during trip was one & which was performing a distraction display at Dry Dange mart, (Mile No. 1) S. Barrow 3. Her young were not seen.
