Holmes,R. 1960 Erolia" melanotes 5 jun Barrow,Alastea but they seemed rather scarce. 7 june-a flock of 6 7? seen a tundel marsh; 2 were collected (#651,652). Along the edge of Elton during the morning, several lone ?f were noted. Usually a 8 could be seen nearby, but only 18? seen to give the "whooping" display 8 june -1 seen on the plot area , west of Ikravik. 9 june-Several 7? displaying, south / tundel. Slough. One seen in the country display described earlier. There was a very slight swelling to the chest. Several small groups / ?f are present at furda, feeding in shallow ponds. 10 june-Several ?f seen at the steels an at Ikravik and along the ridge west & south 1 Ikravik. A display 8? was seen in Orth's Area. In the evening, Several 7? were seen to heard displaying along Elser Lagoon. Several eviction of birds (8?) for a territn turn noted by are very aggres sive were noted. Quite a few ?f are now seen feeding along the pond margin
