Erolia fuscicollis
23 June Ithraquik, Alaska
Same hearing The "poings". This
bird was watched for about
1 1/2 hours, and the second bird was
not seen during this time. One
was heard late this evening
somewhere down in the plot
area.
24 June - While doing the census, I heard a
white-snap displaying across the
second plot mile threavik. It
was heard only twice. In the
evening, a display was heard
near stake 19. The birds were
not seen near the pond, as they
were the last for evening.
26 June Barrow, Alaska
One heard on the east shore of salt
lagoon, and one was collected
by Pitelka just south of Britton's
Area. Another bird was seen
out in central marsh near
the SW corner of the marsh plot. It
was seen feeding with a flock of
Pectoral Sandpipers.
27 June - I heard displaying on the shear
ridge, just east of the gas
line.
