Holmes, R. 1964 C. bairdi 12 June Barrow, Alaska Display at 200', 75', 100', 250' - call (sing) oft stark call c sing 4-5 sharp, short flute notes - followed by several non trilled - not quite so sharp - De twang hier art, art, art, des-des-du eeeelll -call note somewhat disturbed - a verse 1 two intro note - a shape "bdrdt, bdrdt,..." Display landed- folded wings - as another bird flew by about 20' away, The bird on the ground first raised one wing then the other & both both were up & then the tail was cocked to 90° - gave full note of the resonant feeling. Later - 2 see near AACS - air bob. Similar to that described for repair per Metapline (at nest #1) - An aggressor was on a upright posture. Tail was depressed & partially fanned - Right wing was at vertical - The left or kept foot burning as we folded tail forward as she moved slowly 1/4 mile then shuffled and waved 1/2 again. She paid no attention to another 2/ feeding.
