10 June Barrow, Alaska
still depressed Hannel + Birds Reticle of non-
flushing the wings
and towards the -
The back feathers
still ruffled. This happened twice.
The patterns are what has happened in report
& to be aggressive - but in both case the
birds stayed together & 5 minutes later -
a nest with 4 eggs was found 25' to 1
stone S.O. So, this is most likely a
pair - which has just finished its nest -
The ruffled pattern - maybe a courtship -
Pair-lead display - all the birds still needs
checking.
11 June Several Displays in No.B.R. cree - at 150', 100t', 130t'
- high flying - flapping flight - occasional glide
an outstretched - slightly crooked wings -
new landing - V-set wings.
Checked nest - still had 4 eggs - birds
nest - gave strong dish display - I
hundred puffs, tail lowers & spread. Weep
dropped, down feathers ruffled - ever
shuffling off through 2-3 grassy areas -
vain squeaky call - but where about
10' for nest - gave do-wit (total's where?)
call for crabbed upright posture. The
Slow-tucked in hypo-loaded - may have the N.F.
