4 June Barrow, Alaska
Four individuals near explosive shore -
one displaying - others birds foraged.
Two were displaying at the same time
just north of AACS - also same chasing
Group - Tree.
6 June - One flying along Valley slope bluff,
one heard in both areas - DS seem to be quite
uncommon this year - not least so far - they
may be hard to come by.
8 June One displaying over level ridge near
Magnetic Station - landed uneventfully
Keeping wings at neutral for 1 sec
before lowering them.
One displaying near Trepelius [illegible].
9 June Hunted AACS & beach ridge for three hours -
but had difficulty locating them - one
displaying just no. 1 AACS - towards south (a
North side 1 b.r.) - 2 chasing about 300
yd west Magnetic Station (1 cod) -
Their sex relatively scarce so far -
however much I hear habitat not
1m beach ridge is not yet free

One collected near AACS - one other
Seen - in same area.
10 June One possible too heard in Britton's Area (high
polynya at north end).
