1 individual seen feeding on the exposed
firn - west slope / Elson Lagoon - so. 100 ft.
Stony. Good short hillside - better, flusher
30 may - 1 display heard near VOR's area.
1 june 1 bird seen near Elson Lagoon & 1 was
with a flush / Tundra Peckers + dense
near VOR area.
5 june 1 bird seen collected S. of Brittan's Area
today. [illegible] No other have been seen -
heard recently. Late arrivals ?
7 june 2 individuals chasing - 1/2 way between VOR & Brittan's
Area - no display - and, aerial flight - slow - white-like
9 june 1 bird heard displaying in Brittan's Area.
10 june Four individuals doing aerial display north of
the insect plots. Several displaying at Beacon -
1 The Berlandy ridge along Elson Lagoon - NE / NW hillside.
11 june Several displaying heard + birds seen along the
north factor / The level ridge - and at least
3-4 birds - displaying - N & E / The magnetic
station - to NE / B. ridge curve - 2 collected.
14 june Several birds displaying along lower
ridge & near at Stavrova (No. end of plot).
When these birds rise to display - They are
a slower - more languid every beat
which is quite marked - when compared
with normal fast flying flight. Black
relative large wings - make them appear.
