are still relatively active in display - Three on
the Mee 8-50 whose territories about 300m from
the location 1 this 4.
P/12 - gave - sign note d just the
three notes which usually introduces the pump-zez
which lasts about 2-3 sec. Next is a
note described by Denny Smith as a
typewriter carriage or foot-rail running.
The quality I vary for different bird.
Varies in pitch & loudness - Some are
very deep & can be described a roarth-zez-
whereas others are a higher-pitched
pump-zez or pump-za. The variation
in song quality may be due to age
difference, as observed in melanotus.
W/BS are very aggressive to other Sop's -
Chosen 1 BS are particularly cautious today - an 8:00 light chosen &
supplemental BS (father) stood flush
for next - for about 3 min - will
bring it several ground displays-
with simple sweet aerial flights
set every day during chorus. Also -
Chased TCB, PS787, RP4.
A chorusing 2 birds seen near
1 & #1's territory - but may have
been different birds.
