12 June Barrow, Alaska
+ was of the same state / condition - ie
just a scraped cavity with mucus - or
a few bits of debris
The first two sequences took place about
10 min. apart - about 5 min. after #3.
At the same bird was flown to the display
again. 30' south #2 - it just settled
momentarily into the cup, tossed for a few
seconds (with the terminal
backing out of the cup). Scrape was
as other - 2 cup with bottom scraped
clear - for prey? when - grass at edge
Cups were matched - xi probably by the bird
rotating - the cup. - After bird left cup - we
flipped up shores at 45' for 20 sec - then
flipped down - set wings.
- Boundary conflict recorded per round drums -
One bird went up to 36' - scaled form - set wings
back, folded wings - flushed wing. Almost
simultaneous - second bird was doing the same
thing - loaded sun bark about 4'
apart (only bird did the wing flip - as in
our self). - both went into - lumbered,
back feather-ruffled, tail depressed & spread
pattern as they faced each other - for
about 20 sec - then both flushed toward our
area - east four - haven display -
