M.F.Smith 1975 JOURNAL Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Nov.24 Got back to LSB at ~8:00pm. Unloaded mice & fed them all apples. Left snap traps in lab. Put calloun line animals in refrigerator for Dr.Patton. There were 2 P.tuuli on chaparral line and 2 P.manie on grassland. Also 4 birdson chaparral line: Fox Sparrow, Golden-crown sparrow, Bewick Wren, and Sage Sparrow. Mileage at home 29508. Hopland Field Station, Mendocino Co., Calif. Nov.28 Left MVZ at 10:00am. Mileage 29607. Cold clear day. Arrived Hopland 12:15 pm. Mileage 29712. Ate lunch and went out at 1:15pm to set traps after checking in with Al Murphy. Set 1-40 folding Sherman's in the chaparral in Orchard Pasture. Set 41-80 folding in D-2 pasture pan - grassland with scattered deciduous oaks and some live C oaks. Finished there at 3:00pm. Set 81-100 along dry creek in Foster Pasture, and 121-140 along hillside with madrone/oak grove in Foster Pasture, Set 41-80 nonfolding Sherman's in rock pile East of bunkhouse. Finished there at 4:30pm. Had dinner and read until 8:30 pm. Then went out to check some of the traps. Foster Pasture hillside (32) Peromyscus boylii.
