MFSmith 1975 JOURNAL Russell Reservation, Contra Costa Co., Calif. Nov. 15 across from garbage dump (continued) 67 Peromyscus truei 73 P. truei Transferred mice to jars. Ate lunch at noon. At 12:30 started resetting up by the Observatory. Light rain getting heavier throughout the afternoon. Set the 3 sets of 40 in roughly the same areas, with shifting of traps within the areas. Hiked down to dump and reset 40 there again. Walked back to Bonnie's meadow and got 10 extra traps to set near the buildings near old shed, and in aviary by Bianchi's house. Got back to LSB at 4:20 pm. Put dead Microtus and Peromyscus MR#521 in freezer. Nov. 16 Bonnie picked me up at 7:50 am. Dropped her at meadow and got to the Observatory at 8:50 am. Checked Chaparral #1 Peromyscus truei 2 Reithrodontomys released Checked Grassland #8[illegible] Microtus dead put on ice shifted the 20 traps from grass with scattered oaks over to heavy grass below weather station Reset the 20 above the weather station in grass.
