M.F. Smith 1975 Berkeley Hills JOURNAL Aug 6 Left MVZ at 3:10 to try out camper & set traps at Bot. Garden with Bob Jones. Set 1-20 small folding Sherman's along fence around garden (missing 6+15), & Reset 1-20 large and 20-30 small in chaparral (missing 28), Set 30-50 small below potting sheds. Aug 7 Went to Bot. Garden at 7:45 to bring in traps. Potting sheds: #39 42 Another trap had just the head of a mouse in it Chaparral; #21am 27am 14 lg. Number 2 lg was rolled down a hill and had blood stains inside but no mouse. Again, probably racoons. Brought in all the traps and returned #24 key to office. Hasting Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Aug 8 Left Berkeley at 10:30am. Mileage 28205. Heavy traffic and construction on 101, Got to Hasting ~ 2:30 and delivered mail. Mileage 28365. John Davis said he would try to call Hallsacs & Wonders. I talked to Jimmie Bell and got permission to trap on
