Mountain Chickadee
18 June 1935 Saylor Creek field station, Sierra Co., California
To a dead hollow pine tree 20's of Saylor Creek just west of the campground of the path front 500 yds. Found a nest of Mountain Chickadee 7' up in lute. Chickadee sounds like a house black-capped and also much slower "Chick-adee-adee-adee"
White eye rim over eye is very thin hard to tell if it is just black underneath or an eyelet.
When I walked past the tree at least one indiv buzzed out of the hide and I felt the wind displace the hair on the top of my head.
