11, 9 1989 Journal 134 Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, 20 miles N of Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona 3 Nov 1000 hours Eddy took us to Ferguson Lake in large police boat. We found no spaniass. We returned to refuge and were outfitted with flat foot with 84p envade. Again we went to hunt area along Ferguson Lake where there were may cattails saw at least no son spaniass. We returned to refuge ~300pm showered and headed west on Interstate 8 out of Yuma to El Centro, California. 7 miles W of El Centro we exited North onto Forrester Road. We went North thru Westmoreland. 8 miles north of Westmoreland see signs to refuge. At the sign that leads 3miles to Salton Sea Natl Refuge arrow points straight the main road curves sharply to the right. Do not turn, stay straight. On left see [illegible] mile further is refuge Geothermal Plant/. The road will T at the refuge. Go left (S) for 25yds to Hlg. Ken Voget is Refuge manager. Chris (from Huntfield / Eureka Hills) and Ramon are refuge employees. We arrived 3 hours (730 pm) after we left the Imperial Refuge. 4 Nov Salton Sea National Refuge, 7mi NW California, Imperial Co., Calif -10k We banded birds (Black Phoebe) with Ken, Chris and Ramon at 700am. At 0800hours Chris took us out in refuge vehicle. We walked along dike for 2 hours saw only dark son spaniass. Saw 2 Saltmis in cattails along dikes. Lots of Savannah & marsh hen spaniass. At 1000 hours Chris drove us to Bruchand Bay It is ½ N of intersechion of Bruchand and Toweles road
