oct 2 1981 Journal 132 Coronado National Forest, Cochise Co. Arizona 29 Oct drove thru private ranch to get back into National Forest land. It looked like a bad place for Titya so we went back to Silver Peak area. 30 Oct We hiked all day 0730 hours to 1500 hours did not see any Plain Titmouse only Bridled. Shot a Hutton's Vireo in dry river bend it was in oak canopy, for Ned. We drove to Portal to get lights in camper fixed. We had turned out a fence. Saw Cardinals + Curve-billed Thrashers at General Store. We then went N out of Portal toward Paradise. Caught 2 PT along the road. Saw Sage Thrashers, Curve-billed and 31 Oct Crissle Thrashers. Lots of Plain Titmouse on W side of road, more bridled on oakier eastern side. We got 6 birds, saw Ring-tailed Cat: in Canyon just past area in Hutton's. 1 Nov hunted same area again. I was on N side of road got no Plain Titmouse, 3 Bridled. Mountain Bluebird, Sharp-shinned Hawk at a tear tub. Left in the late afternoon for Willcox. We stayed in comfort Inn ($45) ate at P77 hut, Skinned Tits until 200 am. 2 Nov willcox Cochise Co. Arizona Had continental Breakfast in hotel lobby (Stale donuts, horrid coffee.) Heated W on 10 interstate for Pima. Arrived in Yuma ~230 pm (~6 hours from Willcox). Called the refuge from Yuma (602)- 783-3271. The manager Wil Nydeckar was on
