Russell Feeles, 2mi NW Lafayette, Centre Co, Cal (300ft.)
17 June checked the territory & unmarked ♂ at E end of Russell Road (turn around circle). Looks like fledglings (at least 2).
18 Jun Found x FW ♂K with a family, at least 2 fledgins still being fed. Saw what looked like unmarked ♀ carrying orange carrots. Lots of high branches but very little chirping. The family is in a drain on the S side of road 40yds from edge of road. Lots of PO, baytree (30') and Live Oak 25' high.
FW ♂K red ♂ has moved S over the hill to the drain so Sharpshins where FW ♂K's used to be.
19 Jun In Bachmanis S of '14/15 FW ♂K's territory & saw FW ♂K fledgling from Mulberry bush in very close contact with FW ♂K fledgling. In the same area I saw ♂ FW ♂K and no long lost ♀ RD/FW 4Yon!
21 Jun Nest check at B Yon, all 4 eggs gone! Heard singing, put in 4 House Sparrow Eggs in hopes they would return. Nest check at Transfer #5 4 warm eggs, heavy.
Saylor Creek Field Station, 3mi NW of Hunt Mills, Nevada Co, Cal (630ft)
21 Jun 1800 hours, nest check at Transfer #4, flushed unmarked ♀, Eggs have not hatched, are warm (I broke #3) it was smelly, no sign of embryo.
Nest check at B/Bic with FW warm eggs (heavy)
Flushed ♂. Found 2nd nest of FW PO & RD/♂K for and SW/♂D ♂Yon, 4 warm eggs flushed & out of 1 ½' foil box nest 6" off marshy bottom.
