th, 9 1989 Journal Russell Fes., Am. NW Lafayette, Contra Costa Co., Calif., 1300 ft. 15 June 0708 hours, next check at 6yfw or siting on 4yfw's 8 eggs (transfer). The eggs are cold and nest is moist. Heard no sipping. I think they were abandoned, Saw fw/red backs in Bachanis S of PEW by/BIS. Also saw unmarked bird in S end of PE(Fw) hernlock. Nest check at transfer #5, empty! No eggs or adult 0925 hours. Caught unmarked fledgling in fainted hazy a small turtle patch just across the road (210') from willow. It may be 1st fledgling of 6yfw's (it is JIS147). With Fw/RS there were at least 2 unmarked fledglings in Bachanis S of PEW. 16 June Collected old nest of 4yfw (JIS122+123) it was mid this height off the ground in a Berry Bramble 17 June Found 3rd nest of 6yfw or YI & it is on E edge quailow dump ^5' N of her 1st nest. 4 warm eggs l w wt remarks 20.55 light 18.77 light/med did not have 19.56 light 19.39 light/med 15.63 2.50 16.30 2.5Dg gagged nest, the nest is 1' W 15.52 2.50g 16.01 2.50g of a tall red plant in some black berry ~1 1/2' off ground. Nest check at Transfer #4, flushed & off 4 warm eggs - #3 is heavy shell (did not make the nest) put down log way.
