4th 8 1981 79 Journal Runnell Inn Res., 2mi NW Lafayette, Contra Costa Co. July 1300ft 3 April One Three and Two were cracked in some places. I wonder if the & tossed the egg out or was it a jay. I checked K&Kow's nest in the small runner monday the Deciduous Tree, it had one egg today. I put down doz away. Yesterday Tues (11 April) I found a new pair at Three nest 5 of Fw/2 & 40's territory. It was up the ravine ~100 yds. Nest was in some prickly vioners ~2' off th ground it is ~ 5' NWS of th flag. There were no eggs. and I spread fuel with nesty material in month in th morning. Jertdy I spoke with Mark Reguets at Ogden said road was clear for 1st time all year. Birds were singin al that Forest Service will burn in Pinyon Pines near station see 20. When I went tuck to Fw/6C's territory with the triamplut eggs & scared up an adult from 20yds 5 g nest under a trittle. Found Mulberry tree pair nest, frce woola well due ENE 6'. I flagged a tall Thistle (2 1/2') just 8" S of the nest. It was ~1 1/2' off ground. 3 eggs. On th 11thg April I saw 2 Sharp shined Hawks copulating in the Pine some about 20yds NE giant tree. Female also pulled at branch as if she was still loopy for nesty material.
