Russell trees, 2mi N W Lafayette, Contra Costa Co., July 13, 00H.
7 April There were no eggs. I presume it is about finished since cup was steady & well formed, but I did have material with her two morning.
9 April @ 1700 hours bright sunny & 85°F looking for BK/FW's pair next. Heard 2 say from smooth grove of pines 30yds E of pond. I scared up m & f from the W & most deciduous (populus?) tree. There was what looked like a start. In retro-spect the O started calling when I got off 5 yds of rest. I had started the search at the wood pile but found nothing and got no response. I checked the Bee-hive tree and metal pipe nothing, Checked redwood 20yds SW of pile nothing. So perhaps that day & all so much looking in the pile flustered them. Went over to BK/FW's W side of pond. Heard when I thought was his sig and consaty/ unmarked intro. I searched too both up out the henlock (dead) that lives to a side of pond. I flagged the NW corner of what I thought looked like a start with pine needles. They gave some sipping while I was in the area but only for (minute or so). At BK/FW's area now was no sigging other start seemed furtherday. In both areas there was lots of white-wash.
