0625 hours arrive at Russell ; very warm ~ 55 vs
long underwear necessary. Tried to net Fw/Or ?Rd ?
mate but to no avail . all activity ceased ~1000
hours. At 0725 I observed ? Fw? Bl ?? or with nesty material
in mouth. She was diving down near Bachani by the
old barbed wire fence. Tuesday I found the sharp-shined
nest in the pine grove in the draw S of Fw/Bl.
They have built on S edge 20' up in eucalyptus
~ 25yds ESE of Eucalypts, I saw at least both
indics - One of them brought a tough to the nest. I also
saw ?m indic fly over this draw ~ 0830-1030 several
times. Heard 2 or 3 calls during the period.
Tuesday, I saw Fw/Or ?Rd ? activity like she was going to
perch seconds but I never saw her actually do it.
