I heard some "chirping", 12:55 again indic emerges from S end of low lying veg fly N w 5' and disappears with a few chips. 1pm stopped observation - failed Calit Valley Motions. 2 April 0625 hours arrive at Russell ; very warm ~ 55 vs long underwear necessary. Tried to net Fw/Or ?Rd ? mate but to no avail . all activity ceased ~1000 hours. At 0725 I observed ? Fw? Bl ?? or with nesty material in mouth. She was diving down near Bachani by the old barbed wire fence. Tuesday I found the sharp-shined nest in the pine grove in the draw S of Fw/Bl. They have built on S edge 20' up in eucalyptus ~ 25yds ESE of Eucalypts, I saw at least both indics - One of them brought a tough to the nest. I also saw ?m indic fly over this draw ~ 0830-1030 several times. Heard 2 or 3 calls during the period. Tuesday, I saw Fw/Or ?Rd ? activity like she was going to perch seconds but I never saw her actually do it.
