J 1989 Journal 72 Russell Free Res., 2mi NW Lafayette, Contra Costa Co, Calif 30 Mar Recaptured & of Mulberry. He looks fine, back OK, wt - 23.0g. 1 April Netted Fw/BL 4%♀; and Fw/BL: PK/GR at the W side of small pine grove. Fly were netted ~1000hrs that nets set up at the far E next larger pine grove with circle drive but only saw Fw/PK. He looked like his head had not been groomed. He was calling and flying but left foot would not clear around branches and he seemed to bottle in the brush. I left the nets up in hopes of catch his mate and the other pair I heard at the circle drive yesterday. Many Bewick's Wrens on the N side of the Channel. Today it was clear early in the morning windy (10-15mph, ~45-50) at 0630 hour, it has warmed up and wind died down but little overcast, birds seem more active now. 11:42 am I saw observing BK/fin's at the brush pile to see if I can find their nest. BK/fin's: PK/4♀ ; BK/PW or ? . I was calling from top most dead snag of the pile as I merged out of the low lying vegetation 50 ft for 2 tall trees. She flew to S next edge of pile as submerged into it. I can hear OK/PW: PK calling from W side of pond. Sounds like he doesn't have a mate yet. I walked along Res ridge road this morning past creek down to Central Valley. Nothing too good but lots and lots of Poison Oak. 12:10 pm saw both individuals on wood pile.
