CA State Univ. at Santa Barbara 93106 White-crowned or (whitloos) arCochus in Barbairs Yesterday we arrived on the island at 11:30 AM It was a 1 1/2 hour ride from Port Hueneme which was miles S of McGrath State Beach on Ventura Blvd. We took Pleasant Valley Road W onto the Base where we went to security office. We needed Driver's license, registration and proof insurance. We loaded up the boat and headed out at 9:00 AM Saw Western Gulls, a tern (freckles), Brown Pelica, Flork (-10) Western Grebe in the Harbor, I thought I saw a Skua on the way out. No mammals. Lendel met us at the gate and drove us 2 miles to the station. There is a large kitchen with Dining area, secondly that is a screened in porch with Bunk beds, piny pony table and couch.
