Once we got out of So Jose on I-57 traffic lightened up we then went down 156 at Watsonville which becomes highway 1 at Seaside. We traveled S along 1 20 miles from Big Sur to UC Big Creek Reserve. It is 5 miles S of Esalon Institute just off S end of 3rd Bridge from Esalon. John Smiley is Reserve manager (408-667-2543) Rock comb is 87-88. John said road was clear to the Ridge campsite so at 6pm this and I started the climb up to the camp we drove the Volare, it got hot but made it w/o incident. To get to ridge camp: [illegible]
