smith, j 1589 Journal 2mi New Lafayette 42 Burnell Free Faml Santa Rosa Co. California 1300ft 10 Feb northatch weed rally to the E. Sun is shining thru the fog now but it is still quite thick. Extreme calling from Bay Laurel on W side of ridge. Flock of jays (~10) feeding in live oaks on W side of ridge. Flickers wings are making loud playing or "whooshing" as they beat. Fog is burning off slightly & can now see the lower road (beady to party area) from the ridge. Heard a human fly by. I also think I've been hearing the gurgle g of a California Thrasher. The birds are becoming more vocce now at 9:46 am. 11:26 am caught ~10 Golden-crowned sparrows at Mulbery Bush when I ran to get N-S over old well. Sun has burnt off fog except for around hilltops. Didn't think seen fogsy underneath Mulbery bush; all the Golden-crowns popped yellow-green Guerneville Sonoma Co. California Route: 101-N out of San Francisco (~2hr drive) 4 mile N of Santa Rosa go W on River Rd for ~15 miles. In Guerneville then is a stop sign go thru it, then LRT BLK go left and see River Lane Cabins in SW corner.
