ith, g 1989 2 mi NW lafayette 48 Rusael lee Farm/ Contra Costa Co. Calif. 1300 ft of canyon. Saw Song Sparrow singing itself in a Berhais on N side. I found ~10 feet in from trail. This spot is very bend of trail 20yds W of when the road turns N to the waterhole Ridge. Sharp-shinned flew by to the SW to W ridge out of sight. the pond just sw of party area has a pile of wood on S end, saw at heard a Song Sparrow singing on that wood pile and one was calling well to the SE. I drove E along paved road with until I could go no more. Then was that machine "Bleeting" when I parked. I walked 50yds E along muddy road into Redwood grove. Saw Hermit Thrush or ~5 Fox Sparrows, numerous juncos and Brown Finches but no Song Sparrow. 10 Feb 8:34 am very foggy ~100 yds visibility cold ~ 45°. It was sunny in Berkeley But cloud Bank here. Came out to try some netting. 9:16 am still dense fog blankets the area. I have set 2 nets; one at the mulberry bush on the S side near the road. The other at the the N brush corner 75 yds
