uth, 8 1989 Journal 2mi NW Lafayette Penell Free Farm / Contra Costa Co Calif 1304 4 Feb 8:45am, T= 40'F, skies clear. Frost on grass. Sun shining. Purpose- out to checking on soy spara. breeding progress. Found 6 TV's sunning themselves in targe trees near where car is parked. They had their backs to the sun with wings outstretched. One other TV separated ~200 yds to SW ditch on fence post also opened wing when the larger group chit! I have heard no soy sparrow singing. The Golden-crowned warbly in large patches (~15/ridges) always near a brush pile. Two Red-tails are calling
