1938 journal 30 Perry Pines, Jim & Gayle's Creek Field St. Nevada Co. Calif. 6309th 30 July flockes. Have heard no SS calling "jip-jip" It rained a little bit this morning about 5:15am. We got up 6:13 only heard jays calling no Robins which is in sharp contrast to the morning chorus 3 weeks ago when the Robins would wake me up at 5:15am like clockwork. Saw 1 dipper this morning it rattled and flew down to stream. Belted kingfisher flew over very hi (500yds) & called as it flew over the creek flying north.
