8 jun Sagehen Creek Field Station, Sierra Co., California 6328 because of this behavior I knew I was close. but I picked around and sure enough there it was! One of the nestlings raised its head as I pushed aside some of the branches to get at the next. They did not make any begging sound. The parent chirped the whole time I was in the vicinity. I stayed to nest, and it is my intent also to collect them young on my way back to camp, as noted suggested I can in this way stimulate hatching and also get tissue for electrodes. The next was within 3' of the creek on the South side. I didn't stay to measure this trip because I felt I had disturbed trying enough. Tonight after I collect them I will do more thorough through inventory. 11:38 am birds are very quiet I walked to the W gate of Sagehen station following the creek. After I found an Sparrow nest moments later I found a Robin's nest with 4 young close to fledging. The nest was in a small pine (16'tall) it is about 4 feet off the ground. Made of greens and mud. Nestling feathers were almost fully emerged. It has warmed up considerably ~65°F very sunny, no clouds. 5:52 pm found a nest of a Mountain Chickadee in a hollow pine tree hole is ~7'.(space)
