Red-breasted Nuthatch 40 ~6 Warthly Vireo 6 pines American Robin 25 very dark red Western Tanager 2♂ 4 vmt (Forrine) Yellow Warbler 20? Song Sparrow 10 Dark-eyed Juno ~10 Beaver 1 Deer 1 18 June Saschaun Creek Field Station, Sierra Co., Calif. 6328 ft. 6:28 am cross over the creek at the Home over th River ~100 ft of Dining Commons. Traveled W along th creek 500 yds. Seen 3 pairs g Song Sparrow in willows with 1one from creek. Found a destroyed nest 25' up inth fork g a willow tree. It had giame Mired up woner i with a red bark. ~ 2-3" across. and 3" deep. The squirrels here are gray, small (1 ½' head to tail) with prominent ears. They have white stripes near lips going toward th eye. They make a loud chattering call like a woodpecker but to fast. 9:38 am I found a Song Sparrow nest! My first, Ah! I'm not a complete failure. The nest had 2 young, fat well-developed maybe 3 days old. Pifatures not erupted. The egg was warm with a dark spot aboutalon
