uth, 9 1988 Journal 8 4 June .7 mile NE Bear Creek Rd on Corris Paddock, Contra Costa Co. Calif. B(?) singing near drain pipe (flagged) holds territory and very fluttering with F(?). This is just W of area with Tules where 1st went in. They are on N bank. Pam suggests mapping out pairs along the creek territories will be small b/c of good cover. After observing for ~5 minutes the two individuals are fluttering a little chasing and both are singing 9:11 60°F no singy along Hampton trail where they were singy on 7 Jun in Willow along creek wd of Tules. Very singy now and no singy on SW side of Ourisan Bridge trail. Chip note sounds like "Shweep" Pam says sounds wimpy. Heard in in lightly wooded willows at SE corner of Ourisan Trail w/ woodchips near main gate 5 June 1988 Russell Tree Reservation, [illegible] Contra Costa Co. CALIF 5:15 am 1300 ft Route - wildcat canyon to Bear Creek Road 4mi N on Bear Creek to Happy Valley Rd (3/4 mi E) just before Wainpi turn it is on the left LN). Met Frank Determan (Manager). Showed me hillside with Bacharis and Willows where L. Lickter did study. Have heard say sparrows, Caly. Quail, Whretots, RSTowhees Ocellis Hummingbirds - 226 acres. Scrub Jay TV's. 10:30 am. Have been observing a Male singing for ~1hr I am sitting with thistles by the side of the road he is (calli
