Smiley 1936 El Dorado Canyon, 8000ft Humboldt Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Aug. 1 Caught 14 Peromyscus maniculatus and 1 Perognathus parvus. A living Peromyscus man in one rat trap. No Neotoma cinerea though one of this species seen July 30: Shown to Hall & I by Mr. Smith who caught it night of July 29. Caught 1 Callospermophilus in rat trap left set this morning. Moved camp via Rye Park, Oregon and Fanning to a point 9 mi. E of Fanning. 62 mouse traps set at: 9 mi. E Fanning, 4000ft., Buena Vista Valley Pershing Co., Nev. Terrain: rolling dunes of silt under Scrobobatus bushes; silt soft, took impression of hobnails readily. Aug. 2 In traps. Caught 10 Peromyscus monic., 1 Onychomys torridus, 3 Dipodomys microps levipes. Moved camp to S Base Granite Peak, East Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Broad-tailed hummingbird in large bushes of buffalo berry within 200 feet of water; this taken as specimen. 45 mouse traps and 1 rat trap set on: S slope Granite Peak, East Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Traps under junipers and pinyons. Some in vicinity of rocks. Trap line run from creek bottom
