Smiley 1936 July 20 Caught 11 Peromyscus maniculatus, 1 Pregonathus parvus, 1 Rheithrodonomys megalotus, 2 Dipodomys ordii, 2 Microdipodops sp., 2 Eutamias minimus. Set traps in following localities: (1) 4 1/2 mi. NE Pointed Point, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. Set 57 traps (mouse) in sand dunes with Sarcobatus; alternating mottled spots of hard silt and wind-blowable sand: Also set 4 gopher traps in yard of old cabin; grass in yard; a spring with slight flow. (2) 3 mi. E Pointed Point, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. Area of Artemesia; terrain flat; sand brown, coarser 15 mouse traps set. than wind-blowable, so little drifted. (3) Painted Point, 6000 ft., 9 mi. E Uya, Washoe Co., Nev. outcrops of rock on west-facing slope of 45°; rock igneous; few boulders over slope and many angular rocks 3 inches to 1 foot in breadth; some areas of soil one foot square between small 17 mouse traps set. angular rocks. July 21 In localities caught: (1) 25 Peromyscus maniculatus, 4 Dipodomys ordii, 10 Microdipodops (2) 4 P. maniculatus, 6 Microdipodops, 2 Eutamias minimus, 1 Dipodomys ordii. (3) 1 Neotoma lep.
