Took 1 Peromyscus crinitus. (3) 1 mi. NE Gerlach, 4000 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. (a) Rocky area: took 1 Neotoma lepida, 8 Peromyscus crinitus, 1 Perognathus formosus and 1 Peromyscus maniculatus (b) Sand-silt area: took 1 Dipodomys levipes and 1 Peromyscus maniculatus. Evening: Set traps Rock Creek, 5000 ft., Granite Mt, Washoe Co., Nev. 60 traps set averaging 20 paces apart. A spring-fed creek 1 foot wide running steeply down hill in dense brush of wild rose, alder, and quaking aspen. 10 traps set for shrews at water's edge. 46 traps along the edge of and in the brush, 10 traps in Artemesia - Balsamorrhiza association. East-facing slope. Headquarters of a sheep herder and his flock. Much-trampled black Soil. Birds observed. California-type jay, lazuli bunting, meadowlark, Quail with young
