Smiley 193b Peromyscus crinitus (cont.) Painted Point, 6000ft., 9 mi. E Vya, Washoe Co., Nev. July 21 One caught on SW-facing hillside with 30° slope. Angular rocks 3 inches to 1 foot in diameter were abundant. Areas 1 foot square between angular rocks supported short Artemesia and some grasses. July 24 1/2 mi N Quinn River crossing, 4100ft., Humboldt Co., Nev. 9 caught in traps set over top of a dome-shaped hill 300ft. above general flat terrain. Prominent rock outcrops (sedimentary). Positions of several outcrops indicated by talus rock streaks consisted of checker-shaped bits of sedimentary rock; these outcrops flush with surface of ground. Several outcrops, mentioned above, not flush. July 30 El Dorado Canyon, 6000ft., Humboldt Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Slope of hillside 45°. Only trap set on a rocky ledge yielded one of this species plants Artemesia and Juniperus in vicinity of ledge below 10- foot-high rock outcrop. somewhat fissured.
