Smiley 1936 Perognathus parvus 17 mi. W Deephole, 4800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. July 10 Hillside with Artemesia and semi-embedded rocks varying in size as do vegetable cans (i.e., of sizes similar to various cans) embedded in firm sandy soil. Lava rock outcrops were source of above-mentioned rocks. Dry grass on soil between rocks. July 10 Rock Creek, 5000 ft., Granite Mt., Washoe Co., Nev. At 8:45 PM pursued and caught one on hillside above camp. See general account for this day. July 11 Rock Creek, 5000 ft., Granite Mt., Washoe Co., Nev. On 30° slope, south-facing, bases of angular rocks embedded in firm sandy soil. Sparse Artemesia up to ten inches high. Dry grass. 2 caught. July 17 12 mi. Creek, 5300 ft., 1/2 mi. E Calif. line Washoe Co., Nev. On north-facing slope of valley - 35° slope; elevation 200 feet above bottom of valley soil blackish, compactible, admixture of some sand; a few very large boulders and some angular rocks less than one foot across. Two young specimens taken in Artemesia. July 20 3 mi. N Vya, 5900 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. One specimen; terrain flat; wind-blown sand brown, drifted under Artemesia bushes.
