Aug. 5 A precipitous granite rock outcrop, 200 feet high - cliff-like with talus slope below of boulders averaging 2 feet in diameter. One pika seen among boulders and one shot at base of cliff in a broad vertical niche cased by a vertical column of rock. sufficient number of areas of black soil among rocks to support herbaceous plants but few grasses. Areas of soil few and averaging a yard square.
