Smiley 1932 Nyotis californicus Smoke Creek, 3900 ft., 9 mi. E Calif. line, Washoe Co., Nev. July 6 Camped in an abandoned ranch house near Smoke Creek. Vegetation Cottonwood, wild rose, tules, cat-tails, grass (in meadows). One Nyotis taken in rear room of house about 9 P.M. It was flying the 20-foot length of the room as if seeking an exit. would "hang-up" on rafter between erratic flights. A second Nyotis in an outbuilding 10 feet square (horizontally) and maximum height of 12 feet. Door and one window open.
