was very much lighter than the other P.crinutus here taken and the ones trapped by Señor Delgadillo on a rock-hill 3-4 miles farther west.); on the east face of the red-hill near creosote,ocotillo,and cholla (sparse vegetation) in the lava-rock caught 2 Peromyscus (107+1?) and 2 dark P.crinutus (0?92, ?93) None of the females trapped contained embryos. Put up specimens and prepared to break camp for short move to large wash in the creosote and sand. Upon arriving at this wash Dr.Benson decided it was not a good trapping ground; so we went on, getting stuck in the sand but not as badly as when we came in. Made camp at 675±ft.,3 mi.s. Cerro Colorado,28 mi.w. Sonora,Sonora.
Set out 50 mousetraps in mesquite-creosote area and 50 live-traps in creosote-sand.

Caught one Onychomys torridus (94?) and 3 Dipodomys merriami (30?;nothing in pouches) in the mesquite-creosote; in the live-traps 2 D.merriami which were released. We put up specimens and broke camp for:

Picked up mail,laundry,and information concerning game laws from game-commissioner; drove toward coast until 11 PM;made camp beside the road near Sierra Blanca.
