Seven taken in mousetraps on rocky hill,
in rocky arroyo, and in rock-sand wash. One
was a juvenile; several badly eaten at ears,
mouth, and feet by ants. [illegible] of the
seven put up as study-skins: ⚠38, ⚠39, ⚠40.

Twelve taken in mousetraps (8♿; 4⚠) on rocky hillsides
and saguaro "forest"; none put up.

adjacent; two were very dark like the dark pocket mice.

Both were lighter than the dark ones from far out
in lava fields.
