Peroqpathus baileyi (continued) near 2550 ft, lava bed, mr. moctezuma, Sonora May 24, 1938, continued. caught and later to another (429) in a packing-box in which it was temporarily kept. The young were with no hair visible; shrouded in very loose red-pink skin; the eyes and ears were completely closed, but the mouth was open. The young responded to handling with squirms and squeaks. May 25, 1938 07433 juvenile taken on top dark lava hill in light brush, black rocks, and dark brown soil in live-trap. 07432 taken on tan rocky hill above arroyo a few hundred yards from the dark lava hill. 2300 ft, 1 mi. S. Moctezuma, Sonora. May 27, 1938. no emb. Three (one juvenile and 0>447, ?448) caught on hill-top in dark lava, dark brown soil, and light brush. 3400 ft, Arroyo Santa Rosa, 28 mi. N. Cumper, Sonora. May 28, 1938. 3 emb. no emb. ?453 and ?454 taken on rocky hill above arroyo among few plants: acotilla cholla, "dead" brush. Cheek-pouch contents saved.
