Caught in mousetraps 1 Perognathus goldmani
(σ♀408), 4 Perognathus penicillatus (σ♂409-411), and
one jv. Dipodomys merriami (not saved).
Put up specimens, broke camp, and drove 2.4 miles
thru Batuc, 4.2 miles to Tepupa, 1.5 miles to Suaqui,
round-trip to Tepupa to Suaqui, and 7.7 miles to camp
near Rancho El Ojito:
1400±ft., El Ojito, 6 mi. NE. Suaqui, Sonora.
May 22, 1938, continued.
Made camp at roadside in arroyo between
steep cliffs of red rock. Set 44 mousetraps along
sides of red-rock cliff. Shot a lizard (♀112) in wash
and 3 Gambel's Quail (saved 2 crops).
May 23, 1938.
Caught in mousetraps only 1 Perognathus gold-
mani (no emb.) (♂413; cheek-pouch contents saved) and 2 Peromyscus
2 emb. no emb.
emerius (♀414, ♂415).
Broke camp and drove toward Moctezuma (lost
4.8 miles by dropping bags when rear-door of truck sprung
open) over rough, rocky, steep mt. roads from El Ojito:
12.6 miles to Rancheria (no water), 3.9 miles to El Salto (here
we got water extremely polluted by cattle manure), 16.5 miles
to:
Tepachi, Sonora
