B. Shettn 1976 Journal Mexico: Veracruz, Vulcan San Martin 5 Feb. We took off again for vulcan San Martin: from Catamarco head west on Hwy 150 toward Alvarado. The road goes as follows. To Alvarado To Vulcan San (dirt). martin 8km N To San Andress Tuxila. x Catamarca The road in is dirt and very bad, we drove in as follows. smaller, unmarked cutoff To Vulcan San Martin. 1.7 foot bridge over river. very poor dirt road. Lagoon E 1 km 1.6 - garbage dump... Hwy 150. we drove about 5 km. in, then walked another 6 hours - probably about 8 km. to the beginning of the rain forest. Along the way, the area has been totally cleared of forest, and is all pasture and corn fields. There are nice patches of forest on some steep hills, but we did not
