Mexico: Veracruz, vicinity Cerro Orizaba.
(Note: When we collected at El Berro,
Carlos told us it was ~ 3 1/2 hrs. by foot
to the top of *Orizaba- this about 15 km.)
(see Jim Hanken for map of this place).

Mexico: Veracruz, en route to Volcan San Martin.
We woke up & worked the coffee + banana
finca at the edge of Fortin. basically the same
area as before. In the banana fields I got an
Electrodostylus (?) and one Lixenitron , + Jim
got 2 Lixenitron + 2 Polityglossa reflexens in
banana plants. The Lixenitron, as always, were
under rocks. We then walked along a path
through the bananas, were I turned a lot of
rocks. Under them I got 3 snakes + one
Bofo - it is not a marinus, & has large, very
distinct cranial crests. We left after a couple
of hours & headed for Veracruz. 4.1 km. east
of Fortin we worked a vacant lot for more
platydactyla- I got none, but Jim got 3, under
2 rocks next to each other. They were
in the open, totally exposed. We were told that
salvadores are common under rocks, but when it
is wetter-in May + June. We left & headed
on to Veracruz, then south to Caturmeras.
