Mexico: Fortin + Cuatlapán, Veracruz
30 Jan. very dry rocks, one infested w/ ants.
I also picked up one Sceloporus under
a dry rock. Jim got a B. rufescens in
a banana axil, but I saw none. Outside the
finca, I got an Eleutherodactylus under a
large wet rock, as did Jim. We lifted
all the flagstones again, but got nothing.
We went back to Cuatlapán, where
we dined and slept at Miguel's place -
fantastic folks, but a very loud rooster
crowed all night.
31 Jan.
Mexico: Veracruz, Cerro Chichahua +tla
We got off at about 9 A.M. from
Miguel Ceron's house to collect. Jim,
Carlos + I drove to the base of the mtn.,
& climbed to the top of Cerro Chichahuaxtla,
a climb'd ~ 2 hrs. Once there Carlos topped
bromeliads, & Jim + I primarily worked the
logs, bark etc. on the ground. I got 2
salamanders - 1 Thorius inside a rotten
log, and another (poss. Parvamolge) under
mossy bark about 4ft. off of the ground.
Carlos got 1 Pseudoenycus nigroventris in
a bromeliad, & 2 tad poles. The area was
