Jim & I flew into Mexico City - arrived at 5pm, i had the luck to be through customs, have our car and be out by 8pm. Attempted to find the hotel Aguas Calientes, but ended up at the El Paraiso instead, in downtown Mexico City. For $5 a piece, the place was a bargain. Good dinner across the street, & in bed early.

We set out first to find some liquid nitrogen, according to the Union Carbide list - unfortunately, no such luck. We finally got some accross town for 7 pesos/kg - quite reasonable - at the Argon, s.a. Finally got out of the city on Mexican hwy 150 and headed for Veracruz. First hit some level woods and fields, then we started to climb out of the valley. Passed by some nice looking pine forest with lots of bromiliads, & then polled of a couple of kilometres later. The area is pine-oak woodland, & looked really dry. We were above the bromiliads, but decided to turn some logs. I got the Panuwoke immediately under a medium (~ 8" diameter) log - in a hollow in the dirt. The area
